General purpose sandpaper sheets optimized for use on all surfaces have an open-coat aluminum oxide abrasive applied to a paper backing. Compatible surfaces and substrates include paint, plastic, composites, gelcoat, fiberglass, and carbon steel.

• Aluminum Oxide abrasive is a strong, sharp, and durable abrasive that penetrates the work surface and withstands heat and high speeds.
• Fine abrasive deburrs metal and smooths surfaces before final finishing. Fine grits range from 150 to 220.
• Paper backing has a smooth, flat surface to provide consistent pressure across the work surface.
• B backing weight is a flexible paper backing (40 lbs.) that is slightly more durable than A-weight paper.
• Open coat has grit on about 50% of the surface to prevent swarf from clogging the surface and keep the workpiece cooler.
